My heater hasn't worked for a few years. My first attempt (three years ago?) to fix was to manually mess with the heater hose valve. Didn't really help. I just pulled the ambient sensor and the fan spins. The resistor wires are good and no touching. If I put the temp up to 90, it just blows cold air and I can even see the metal refrigerant line (engine bay at firewall) getting icy. All the controls work (I can change floor, face, defrost, etc). Could it be just a shorted resistor making the car think it's a million degrees inside? Any easy test? I've tried the diagnostics in the past, but didn't get far. Maybe I just need to try that again?
